The clothes came off; the courage came out. Learn what these stars, including Emmanuelle Chriqui, Colbie Caillat, and Kara DioGuardi, had to say about their bodies, their workouts, and what it felt like to drop the robe. For more of our revealing interviews with them, pick up the May issue of Allure, on newsstands April 20.

“Some women want bigger breasts,” says the Entourage actress. “But [I wish] I could have had a dancer’s body. I sometimes wear plunging necklines because they make me feel smaller.” At the shoot, she was on day four of a ten-day organic-food “cleanse.” The point wasn’t to drop pounds. “It’s not about losing weight. I didn’t want to feel freaked out about today, so I consciously kept focusing on excitement.”

“This shoot was less about beauty than about taking a risk and showing people a side of me they never have seen,” says the American Idol judge. She was proud to have the confidence to strip down for the camera after struggling with binge eating and depression in her early 20s. “Back then I was a size 6 or 8; now I’m more like a size 2. Food is not what I use to anesthetize myself anymore.” She didn’t diet or work out like a maniac in preparation, but she did make one change: cutting way back on salt. “I can really retain water,” she says.

Crystal Bowersox to quit American Idol?

Posted by Moondoggy | Posted in American Idol | No Comments » | Posted on April 16th, 2010

Overwhelmed by the stress and pressure of being on ‘American Idol,’ contestant Crystal Bowersox threatened to walk off the show. ‘Idol’ host Ryan Seacrest stepped in and had a quick heart-to-heart with her in the show’s parking lot, TMZ reports.

Sources claim Bowersox told him she couldn’t handle the competition and didn’t like all the media attention and threatened to move back to Ohio to be with her family.

Luckily, Seacrest convinced the ‘Idol’ hopeful to stick it out. He pushed the fact that if she won she’d get a recording contract and become a millionaire. Guess that was enough to make her stay.

According to TMZ, Seacrest told her, “The greatest thing I ever did was make enough money so I could buy my mom a house. You can buy your mom a house.”

Season-two finalists Clay Aiken and Ruben Studdard—does it even matter anymore which one was crowned the winner?—are heading out on a 17-city North American tour. And they’re calling it “Timeless” because, well, it totally is.

The two begin reliving their glory days July 23 in Asheville, N.C., and are plotting numerous duets and covers of classics from the past five decades.

“I couldn’t ask for a better tour mate,” Clay says in a statement. “To be able to share the stage with him again is so exciting…He inspires me daily and I think that respect and admiration will truly be reflected in our show.”

“It is truly a blessing and an honor to be on the stage with my friend,” Ruben says.

AI: Ryan Seacrest spoils results show on Twitter

Posted by Moondoggy | Posted in American Idol, TV | No Comments » | Posted on March 19th, 2010

Ryan Seacrest has still not addressed or issued an apology for spoiling the result of Wednesday night’s American Idol on his Twitter account. After Idol finished filming at 7 p.m. in Los Angeles, Seacrest tweeted the following: “Packed radio show tomorrow… got tonight’s voted-off Idol Lacey Brown.” However, the tweet was sent out to Seacrest’s 3 million followers before the program starting airing on the West Coast at 9 p.m., sparking a Twitter backlash against the Idol host. Coincidentally or not, Wednesday’s Idol ratings in the 18-49 age demographic were the show’s lowest in its history for a “regularly scheduled in-season episode,” according to The Washington Post.
