Wonderday 2006 Part 1

What a Wonderday Bitches! First and foremost, I must thank each and every one of you who have ever been a part of Wonderday throughout the years. This event started back in 2002 with only 7 of us. All the guys wore striped jackets, and we thought were the coolest people at Wonderland (side note: we were). But Wonderday has gone through quite the evolution, peaking last May with Wonderday 2006.
The WD fever spread far and fast, which resulted in this event selling out in less than 3 days. Originally there were only 50 tickets available, but demand was so huge that we had to demand more. Needless to say, we knew this was going to be a special night. Over 75 people ended up donning red shirts in an attempt to out-wit, out-last, and out-play fellow WD06 attendees in the first ever Wonderday Picture Scavenger Hunt! Groups of people randomly disappeared in an attempt to piggyback a stranger, grab random ass, tell the guys were NOT to put things, and trying to figure out what the hell a Bauresque picture was. You need to check out the pics… They are incredible.
Other highlights included Booty randomly, and I stress randomly, pouring water all over Bondo (this event eventually lead to a fractured ankle… ask me for more details), Craig’s fabulous glasses, Dianna dropping her glasses in the toilet, slow-dancing on picnic tables, Evan taking a picture of our picture on Italian Job (and getting blasted for it), and telling the most snobby chick on the planet that she had only 2 weeks to live! Good times!
After the Red Army corrupted the youth at Wonderland, they proceeded to head to Wonderday’s first official sponsor… Sam & Pete’s. Here we played pool, had some great food, and listened to the official Wonderday CD. Adam filmed the event (despite Claudia’s pessimism), while Marisa photographed it… and the pictures speak for themselves. A lot of alcohol was consumed, and many more good times were had. Some highlights of dinner included Booty being unable to get the projector working, Craigger and I singing “Forgiveness”, Evelyn being unable to hit a pool shot, Bondo and Ross’ dance-off, Adam singing S Club, and all the drunken mayhem!
Wonderday 2006 was a HUGE success, and that’s only because of all of you! Thanks everyone, and I look forward to seeing you all at Wonderday 2007, 2008 and Wonderday 2020.
Special thanks to Adam, Marisa, Kristin, Brett, Sam, John, Deborah, and Jack Bauer (for saving our planet from terrorists).
Are you Ready… Again?
